Please note that different requirements apply for the use of a body bag in pathology than for recovery. The following factors should be considered when selecting a body bag.
 
  1. The Material (type of film & film thickness | environmentally friendly)
Body bags are disposable products. At MuHeSa, we use environmentally friendly materials such as polyethylene, recyclate & regenerate, and compostable films that meet the demands of daily work. The films we use for the production of body bags have the following advantages and properties:
 
Polyethylene:
One of the most widely used plastics, resistant to acids, alkalis, oils, and fats, and combustible according to VDI 3891 guidelines in crematoria.
 
Recyclate & Regenerate:
Regenerated films, made from already used films from industry and food trade. Body bags made from this material are sustainably produced and conserve important raw material resources.
 
Compostable films:
Biodegradable body bags from MuHeSa do not adversely affect the chemical, physical, and biological properties of the soil or groundwater. They are free of plasticizers, free of genetic engineering, completely biodegradable, and comply with the DIN EN and DIN 14955 standards for biodegradable plastics.
 
  1. The dimensions
Body bags come in different sizes, depending on the intended use and the dimensions of the deceased. At MuHeSa, we offer standard sizes as well as extra-sturdy XXL formats for special uses.
 
  1. Weld seam processing (liquid-tight)
MuHeSa body bags are equipped with various technical features to ensure the most liquid-tight body wrap possible. Through special welding and specially built machines, our body bags can be made up to 99% liquid-tight.
 
  1. Carrying handles
Carrying handles on body bags should reliably serve their purpose and be tear-resistant and liquid-tight. In addition to manually punched handles, there are also handles with wooden reinforcement that lie more comfortably in the hand and enable a good feel during recovery. For special uses, rescue blankets or a specially designed recovery cover with reinforcement and stable carrying loops can be used. The intended uses of body bags vary depending on the field of application.


 
In clinics or with undertakers, different application regulations apply than, for example, in operations by the fire department or police. However, clean and problem-free recovery as well as protection against infection and the spread of diseases are of the highest importance for all intended uses. Discretion, safety, and ease of handling for employees are indispensable.
